Abstract: Policy Implications for Robotaxis in Chicago - Robotaxis are emerging as the next innovation to transform how people navigate cities. With operations already in a handful of US cities, and many more anticipated in the years ahead, policy leaders are wrestling the benefits and risks that autonomous vehicles offer. From traffic safety to the economy, data privacy to equity, the policy challenges presented by the burgeoning robotaxi industry are many. Join this lively discussion on how Chicago and other cities are preparing for robotaxis.

Bio: Michael Kent is the policy director for the Chicago Department of Transportation. He has more than two decades of experience leading transformative projects across a range of city planning and policy disciplines in New York, Seattle, and Chicago.
