SUMMARY:Road Construction Projects Scheduling considering Stakeholder Concerns
DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Mohammad Miralinaghi, PhD, Illinois Institute of Technology  Location: ERF 1047  Abstract: Road construction projects need to be scheduled optimally while addressing the concerns of key stakeholders, including agency costs of construction, user costs of delay, and community business disruptions. This presentation describes different proposed frameworks that address these stakeholder concerns to develop optimal project schedules. The framework is intended primarily for the planning or pre-construction phase of decision-making but also considers traffic conditions in the prospective phase of operations. The presentation also discusses the impacts of the anticipated presence of autonomous vehicles on the value of time and, subsequently, the optimal construction schedule.  Speaker Bio: Mohammad Miralinaghi is an assistant professor in the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. degree in transportation engineering from Purdue University, MSc degrees in transportation planning from the University of Alabama and Sharif University of Technology, and BSc in civil engineering from Sharif University of Technology. He was selected for the NSF efellows program and did his post-doctoral studies at Georgia Institute of Technology. He is an assistant editor for Journals of Transportation Research Part D and Transportation Research Record. He serves as a paper reviewer coordinator for TRB standing committees of Travel Demand Management (AEP60) and Air Quality and Greenhouse Gas Mitigation (AMS10). His research interests include "Transportation Infrastructure Planning,? "Travel Demand Management,?
