Professor Krishna Reddy, of civil, materials, and environmental engineering at UIC, has announced the fall 2025 schedule for the “International Webinar Series on Geoenvironmental Engineering, Sustainability, and Resiliency.”
The online webinar series begins Thursday, August 28, with “Leveraging Artificial Intelligence for Circular Economy Integration in Sustainable Waste Management” and runs until December 4.
The webinars are free, but registration is required. Register for all or selected webinars at https://uic.zoom.us/meeting/register/leDiXP0WTvew7JmiXu55IQ.
During the webinars, experts from around the world, including Australia, China, India, Taiwan, United Kingdom, United States, and Vietnam, will share their knowledge and expertise on a wide range of topics related to geoenvironmental engineering (land contamination, waste management, etc.), sustainability, and resiliency, and provide insight on how to deal with those challenges in a sustainable way.
“Geoenvironmental engineering is a multidisciplinary field that draws upon a wide range of scientific and engineering principles, including geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, geology, hydrology, geochemistry, microbiology, sustainability, and resilience to address some of the most pressing environmental and infrastructure issues of our time,” said Reddy, director of the Sustainable Engineering Research Laboratory and the Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering Laboratory at UIC.
The webinars are geared toward young researchers and practicing engineers interested in learning more about the latest developments and best practices related to geoenvironmental engineering. The series is also for industry professionals, from various related sectors, who are looking to stay informed about the latest research trends in the field. Climate enthusiasts, environmental scientists, students, and other individuals interested in learning about the challenges related to geoenvironmental engineering and their effects on climate change and sustainability are encouraged to register to participate in the webinars.
The series is supported by the ISSMGE Technical Committee on Environmental Geotechnics (TC215) and the ASCE/G-I Geoenvironmental Engineering Committee (GEC).
Reddy has been organizing the International Webinar Series on Geoenvironmental Engineering, Sustainability, and Resiliency since January 2021, and recordings of past webinars are available on YouTube at Geoenvironmental Engineering Webinars.
