Three engineering students featured on WTTW’s Chicago Tonight

PhD student Raguez Taha, of civil, materials, and environmental engineering, and undergraduate student Yuri Labuca and PhD student Caleb Smith, both of mechanical and industrial engineering, and were guests on WTTW’s Chicago Tonight with host Brandis Friedman for an eight-minute discussion about their summer internships at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Alabama.
The students worked on projects geared toward deep space exploration and bringing humans closer to having a presence on the Moon.
All three students were awarded internships through the NASA MIRO Center for In-Space Manufacturing: Recycling and Regolith Processing at UIC.
